The United States of America is a part of the North American Continent.   Also part of the North American Continent is the country of Canada to the North, and the country of Mexico to the South. The United States is bordered to the West by the Pacific Ocean, and to the East by the Atlantic Ocean.  The Gulf of Mexico is to the South and the East of Mexico.
