Reptiles

 Reptiles are defined as air-breathing vertebrate animals that have a dry scaly skin that is 

covered with scales instead of hair or feathers  Most reptiles are cold-blooded animals 

meaning that they cannot regulate their internal body temperature.  The typically lay soft-

shelled eggs on land.   Included in the classification of reptiles are Snakes, Lizards, 

Crocodiles, Turtles, and Tortoises. Reptiles are Tetrapods which means that they have four 

legs and feet.  The study of reptiles is called Herpetology.
